About

A forum for students, by students.

Malini's Sapna, Inc. is a compassionate medical and educational charity based in Los Angeles, dedicated to providing vital scholarships and healthcare support to underprivileged children in rural Nepal. It is run by students, for students.

This website is our medium for raising awareness of what is possible, fostering discussion, and inspiring collaboration.

Mission

Expanding opportunity through education and health.

We strive to raise awareness about educational and healthcare needs in less privileged places such as rural Nepal. We want children born into poverty in the far corners of the world to learn through association and rise to success, as many exemplary people of similar origins have done. This forum chronicles the life experiences of people we hope to emulate.

Alongside this larger vision, we champion women's health and girls' sports in under-resourced communities and address the waste of reusable medical products in the United States. Through these initiatives, we aim to make a lasting impact on the education, health, and well-being of communities in need.

Meet the founders

Sapna and Malini Pradhan

We are Sapna Elena Pradhan and Malini Natalia Pradhan, two sisters who conceived and began this charity project in 2024 while attending Flintridge Preparatory School in La Cañada, California. Our parents are from Nepal and northern India. We know how fortunate we are to have grown up in Los Angeles; had we been born in another place or time in Nepal, we could just as easily have been among the many underprivileged children struggling to stay healthy, receive an education, and simply enjoy sports and play.

At the time of the project's founding, Sapna was a freshman at Flintridge Preparatory School, where softball was her main avocation. Malini was beginning premedical studies as a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley. Together, we hope to bring our values of education, health, and sports to girls with limited opportunities in our ancestral homeland of Nepal.

Our goals are as straightforward as they are essential: to give back a measure of what we have been fortunate to receive in the United States, raise awareness, and help communities in rural Nepal and other underprivileged areas worldwide. It starts with health, education, and the application of both. We invite you to join us in supporting education and health for children in rural and often-forgotten parts of Nepal, as well as youth sports and community activities.
